Building Managers: When Considering Manhattan Plumbing Companies

September 16, 2017 by Boris Mechanical

As a building manager or property owner, you’re often the first ones to hear about your tenant’s plumbing problems. A lot of times, minor issues are handled in house – but not all plumbing problems are minor. When you need plumbing repairs done right away, or it’s time to renovate or upgrade your properties, you are going to need to choose which of many Manhattan Plumbing Companies you want to work with.

First things first, you want to make sure you’re working with true professional plumbers. The exact term you want to search for is “licensed master plumber in NYC”. It’s important to check that the plumber you work with is bonded and insured as well. Experience counts: Manhattan plumbing companies that have successfully served their customers for many years are your best bet. Check references and reviews.

The type of properties you have will determine the type of plumber you need. If your building is strictly residential, it will have different plumbing issues than a mixed use building that contains a restaurant or other business that uses a lot of water. In the latter instance, you need a NYC commercial plumber. Some Manhattan plumbing companies provide both residential and commercial plumbing services.

If you have gas heat or gas appliances in your property, you want to have a licensed master plumber performing all installations and service. This protects your tenants and your property. Of course, all NYC properties need to have working sprinkler systems in place. Systems must be installed, serviced and inspected by a licensed NYC plumber to maintain compliance. If you’ve received a notice of violation, reach out to a plumber right away: proof of prompt repair will be required by the City.

Professionalism and budget are also important considerations, particularly in high-end or luxury properties. Appearance does matter! You want to work with a Manhattan plumbing company who respect your property, treat tenants with courtesy and respect, and work efficiently.
