A Smart Shower For Your NYC Home

February 20, 2017 by Boris Mechanical

Technology has become central to our lives. The trend toward a smart home now includes the bathroom. As your NYC plumber, there are three definite trends we’re seeing being adopted on a widespread scale: the smart shower, hands free faucets for the bathroom, and touchless toilets.

Smart showers are all about comfort and safety. Using a touchpad, you can custom set water temperature and pressure settings for multiple shower heads – the process is very easy and intuitive. Settings can be saved, so each family member can have their shower exactly the way they like it. The ability to set temperature controls is very important if you have little ones: eliminate worries about accidental burns or scalds. Depending on the model of smart shower you choose, a variety of pressure settings can be set to create a truly custom experience, such as beginning with a gentle rainfall effect that gradually becomes more intense and invigorating. Some smart showers come with a remote control, so you can get your shower started before you get out of bed in the morning!

You may be familiar with hands free faucets in the kitchen. They’re great for clean up and are very convenient. Now bathroom fixture designers have brought the ease and convenience of hands free technology into the bathroom. These faucets work the same way – you simply move your hands near the sensor and the water comes on. Some models have color changing LED indicators that are blue when the water is cooler and red as it warms: again, a nice feature for families. If you’re interested in water conservation, you’ll want to talk to your NYC plumber about switching to a hands free faucet: they save a surprising amount of water while still being very stylish!

Touchless toilets are the final high tech trend for NYC bathrooms we wanted to talk about. You never have to touch this toilet to flush it – simply wave your hand over the sensor and everything is taken care of. Some models feature a built-in bidet, which is a very nice feature.
