“My boyfriend and I bought this place knowing we’d have to do a lot of remodeling work,” Carmen said. “What I didn’t know is that doing renovations is the number one cause of couples’ arguments. We couldn’t agree on anything – especially when it came to the kitchen.”
After one particularly nasty fight, Carmen put her foot down. “I told him I was just going to handle it all from now on and he needed to stay out of it,” she said. Her boyfriend quickly agreed – but didn’t mind voicing his opinion that the project was going to be a disaster. Carmen smiled. “You know after that that this kitchen needed to be superb.”
It was all running smoothly until it was time for the couple’s new gas range to be installed. “I’d gotten a great deal buying a range at a big box store upstate,” Carmen explained. “And when the guy said ‘Can you install it?’ I said ‘Sure, how hard could it be?”
She quickly realized that installing new gas lines was definitely not a do it yourself job. “Even if I wasn’t worried about blowing everyone up, I’m sure there are rules and regulations to follow that I don’t even know about,” Carmen said. “So I started searching for a NYC plumber who installs gas lines.”
New gas line installation is often required for kitchen remodels. They’re also needed for furnaces, hot water heaters, and outdoor cooktops and grills. “Sometimes you can just have your stove hooked up to the old gas lines,” Carmen explained, “but since we really changed the layout, I needed new gas lines installed.”
Once the new gas lines were in place, it was very easy to install Carmen’s new range. “Our NYC plumber handled the appliance hook up for me,” she said with a smile. “So when I got to unveil the kitchen and my boyfriend said, “How’d you manage that?!” I could honestly say, “Oh, it was easy!”
