NYC Home: Bathroom Design Trends You’ll Love or Hate

August 5, 2018 by Boris Mechanical

In all the years we’ve been in business providing New York City plumbing, we’ve learned one thing for sure: New Yorkers are a diverse, opinionated bunch of people. When it comes to issues like bathroom design trends, there’s not going to be any agreement. Some people are going to love these ideas to update their bathroom, while other people are going to think they’re the worst thing they’ve ever seen. We say you do you – make the style choices that make you happy, and call your favorite licensed NYC plumber to handle the installation for you.

Need a New Bathroom Faucet? Think Black.

Homeowners who want to add a touch of sophistication to their Manhattan home are turning to classic black. Bearing in mind that many NYC bathrooms are fairly small, this can mean choosing black plumbing fixtures, including the faucets. Go all in with the trend by choosing a dramatic statement piece, like a black free standing tub. Not sure you love it? Try black out in small, non-permanent doses first – black towels, bathmats, and accessories can let you ‘test drive’ the idea before you commit.

Did Somebody Say Free Standing Tub?

Soaking in a deep, spacious tub is one of life’s finest pleasures – especially after a long day at the office and a hectic commute. Free standing tubs are very trendy right now – people love the clean lines, comfort, and simple luxury. Be prepared to do a little shopping to find the tub that fits your space and style – some space saving models need less square footage than you might imagine.

Be Real. This is NYC. Let’s Talk Showers.

Ok, there’s no space in your place for a free standing tub. That doesn’t mean you can’t have a fabulous spa like bathroom at home. One of the biggest trends in New York City plumbing right now is the smart shower, which offers every member of the family their own optimized experience, complete with custom temperature and pressure settings!
