“Bathrooms tend to get the short end of the stick, design-wise,” Alfredo said. The Brooklyn native has been working on his home for years, taking on projects as the budget allowed. Now it’s time to do over the bathroom and there is definitely work to be done. “I can’t make the room any larger, but I can certainly make it more comfortable,” Alfredo said.
His wishes are in line with some of the most popular bathroom renovation trends. “I call it the three w’s,” he said. “Warmer, Wired, and Walk-in!” Here’s what Alfredo talked to his NYC plumber about:
Creating a warmer bathroom! Heated towel racks and warming drawers give NYC homeowners the ability to experience high-end hotel amenities in their home. Consider upgrading your bathroom heaters: today’s newer radiators are sleek and efficient, warming up your surroundings quickly while still looking stylish.
The wired bathroom We know it’s hard to put your phone down, but you really don’t want to keep bringing it into the bathroom with you. New bathroom fixtures with integrated video screens and speakers let you keep watching your favorite show no matter what you’re doing – and if you really want to check Facebook while you’re brushing your teeth, have at it!
Walk in tubs & barrier free showers Ideal for space-saving applications, walk-in tubs are the preferred option for NYC homeowners who want to be able to soak safely for years to come. “I was worried about leaks,” Alfredo said, “but after I actually saw a walk-in tub in action and how well the seal system works, I knew I had to have one. I had my NYC plumber install it, and it’s been my favorite feature of my new bathroom ever since.”
